Darwin

Darwin, the capital of Australia’s Northern Territory, is comparatively a small city on the Timor Sea. It is an excellent place for shopping and enjoying nature with a number of beautiful beaches and lush parks including the Bicentennial Park, a wide area of parkland featuring war memorials, walking trails and access to the pretty Lameroo Beach. If you are more into watching than eating them, you can always do so, meaning: see them in their natural habitat from a safe distance, by visiting the Litchfield National Park.

Perth

As the capital city of the Australian state of Western Australia, Perth is the exact location from which it is easier to explore the entire state. It is among the most isolated major cities in the world with the Indian Ocean on one side and the Australian hinterland on the other. It is also one of the sunniest cities of Australia, blends with nature and urban life. The Kings Park and Botanic Garden is the city’s most popular attraction with grassy parkland, unique bushland and botanical gardens. With 400.6 hectares of parkland, it is recognised as one of the biggest inner-city parks in the world, which stands on Mount Eliza overlooking the Swan River, offers epic city views. Launceston

Launceston is Tasmania’s second-largest and Australia’s one of the oldest cities. It is the perfect place where you can hike mountains, swim in the crystal-clear water of beaches, experience the city charms through exploring its glorious old towns and have great food and drink. About one and a half kilometres from the city hub is the area’s one major tourist attraction: the Cataract Gorge, a river gorge with a chairlift, hiking trails and harvested gardens. If you take a ride towards the northeast of the town, almost two and a half hours later, you should reach the Bay of Fires featuring clear water reservoirs which are ideal for swimming and fire-coloured granite rocks which you can climb if you wish. If all these do not fulfil your hunger for adventure, you can try to go to the Cradle Mountain National Park for a daring hiking experience. With a sharp new moon curve peak, the Cradle Mountain is considered to be a symbol of Tasmania and worth a visit. Do not miss the snow monkey exhibition in the City Park and the display of native and exotic animals in the Tasmania Zoo.

Hobart, Tasmania

Located on the River Derwent, Hobart is the capital city of the Australian island state of Tasmania. From fresh local produce and exceptional artworks to dramatic coastlines and eye-popping landscapes, it has everything that requires to attract tourists. It is home to the world-famous Museum of Old and New Art, abbreviated as MONA, the largest privately funded museum in Australia with excellent eating and drinking facilities. If museums do not grab your interest, you can think of touring Mount Wellington, a 4,170-foot mountain with spectacular summit views and walking as well as cycling tracks. Kangaroo Island

Resting off the shore of South Australia and 112 kilometres southwest of Adelaide, Kangaroo Island is the third-largest island in Australia. It is one of the country’s top tourist destinations with native wildlife, classic bushland, fresh produce and nature reserves. The name of the island is really deceiving as it is not full of only Kangaroos. It is, in fact, home to numerous other wild animals such as koalas, echidnas, goannas, sea lions and various species of bird. Consider touring the Seal Bay Conservation Park to closely inspect the Seals while they are either relaxing or rollicking on the beach. Journey to the west along the coastline to get to the Flinders Chase National Park, a protected area housing iconic landmarks such as the extraordinary Remarkable Rocks and the amazing Admirals Arch.

Adelaide

Adelaide, the capital city of the state of South Australia, is one of Australia’s most lively cities. It is renowned for its numerous traditional festivals, sporting events, dramatic coastlines, fine art exhibitions, various foodstuffs and liquids. It is home to several famous museums including the Art Gallery of South Australia, which exhibits comprehensive collections of Indigenous art; and the South Australian Museum, a natural history museum housing natural history artefacts and cultural findings. The bustling Adelaide Central Market is a favourite destination for fresh produce, premium meat and other commodities. Make time to explore the magical Adelaide Botanic Garden in the city centre with rare and diverse plants from across the country. Just north of the city centre is Adelaide Zoo, Australia’s second-oldest zoo, which is home to thousands of exotic and native animals. A trip of a few days is never really enough to experience all these attractions the city offers.
